Coming into this season, there wasn’t any real hype around the Dolphins and honestly I can see why. Outside of Dolphins fans, nobody had a reason to be excited. Heading into this game, the best-case scenario felt like maybe the team could make a few winning plays, keep it close, and somehow steal a win to start 1-0. But then there’s the obvious curse: the Dolphins show up, get absolutely smoked, and fail to make plays on either side of the ball. From kickoff, it looked like we were headed down that same path.

By the second quarter, it was already over. A couple of turnovers buried the Dolphins early. The offense looked lifeless across the board. Nobody was getting open downfield even though we have two “premier” receivers who are supposed to be studs. By the time Tua was dropping back, he was either getting hit, throwing an erratic pass, or gift-wrapping the ball for the Colts. Yes, the offensive line is bad, but from the eye test alone, Tua Tagovailoa looked like an awful decision-maker with the ball in his hands. If this continues, it’s only a matter of time before fans start calling for Zach Wilson or praying that seventh-round pick Quinn Ewers gets some snaps. This game felt like validation for every Tua critic out there because his play was just flat-out bad. There’s not much else to say other than let’s just hope the team can turn things around. At this point, it’s about making the right plays and simply finding ways to win, but I don’t see that

happening with this roster. The lack of depth in key positions like defensive back was on full display yesterday, and it doesn’t help that Jalen Ramsey made the game-sealing defensive stop for Pittsburgh in his Steelers debut. Tua needs to find a way to turn it around, and it feels like an impossible task. Fortunately for him, it’s only Week 1, and there’s still time. But man, good luck, because on Sunday he looked like he had no business being a starting quarterback in this league. Be a leader, get after it, and prove us wrong.
